The Birnam Book Festival 2022 was a celebration of literature and culture that took place back in May 2022 in our picturesque village of Birnam, Scotland. The festival featured an impressive lineup of authors and activities that offered a great weekend for everyone.
The festival had a diverse range of authors from different genres, including poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and children’s books. Some of the authors who attended included Professor Devi Sridhar, Chitra Ramaswamy, James Robertson, Louise Welsh and Mallachy Tallack. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with their favourite writers and discover new ones through book readings, panel discussions, and author interviews.
Performances showcasing our vibrant local Scottish music and poetry as well as exhibitions of local art and crafts, were also part of the festival.
The Birnam Book Festival 2022 was a reminder of the importance of literature and culture in our lives, and we were delighted to be bringing it back to live audiences after the pandemic. It celebrated our rich cultural heritage and provided a platform for both seasoned readers and novices to come together and celebrate the written word. The festival was a huge success, and we can’t wait to see what Birnam Book Festival 2023 has in store for us.
