Visiting us Safely

Covid Statement

The Birnam Book Festival is committed to running Covid safe events when we return in May 2022.

We expect visitors to comply with Scottish Government guidelines inside the venues. While the wearing of face masks is no longer legally required, we would ask visitors to respect the safety of others and their rights to wear masks or take other safety measures as recommended or stipulated by the Scottish Government guidelines and regulations.
We are encouraging visitors over the age of 18 years to be double vaccinated against COVID for at least 2 weeks prior to their visit. Hand sanitiser stations will be provided at the entrance to Birnam Arts and we encourage everyone entering the venue to utilise it. There will be frequent cleaning of public areas, toilets and touch points around the venue. We will also be ventilating the venue as appropriate. We will continue to monitor the situation and reserve the right to amend our guidance within the T&Cs to keep our audiences, participants, volunteers and staff as safe as possible.
Visitors, participants, volunteers and staff must agree to leave immediately if they develop COVID-19 symptoms at any time during the events. If you or any member of your household develop symptoms or receive a positive test result for COVID-19, please do not attend events in person. Get in touch with contact@birnambookfestival.co.uk to cancel your booking.

Our programme of events has been designed to ensure we can deliver events safely and in compliance with government guidelines.
